DayPoint is a native iOS application that helps you track where your time goes. By simply entering locations where a user spends their time, DayPoint can keep track of how their day is spent. In addition to calculating the time you spend at home, at work, or at the gym, DayPoint reports the time you spend walking, commuting and sleeping. It then offers various graphical ways to visualize your data and make meaningful insights as to where the time goes.
The Process & Tech
This native iOS app was implemented using Swift and Objective-C. The server-side was built using Ruby on Rails and a Postgres database. We leveraged multiple graphics libraries in order to provide engaging and rich interfaces to explain the data collected and provide detailed granularity into time data analytics for true ‘time nerds’ (like us). We also developed proprietary algorithms to calculate users’ sleep patterns, daily commutes, and travel time.
